Classic

2 slices of quality bread, preferably fresh and with more than one grain to add to the flavor

Butter, softened

1 slice cheddar cheese

1 slice Muenster cheese

1 slice Colby jack cheese

  1. Heat pan over medium heat
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread
  3. Place the first slice of bread into the hot pan, butter side down
  4. Layer the 3 cheeses over the bread, being sure to cover from side to side. It’s best if the cheeses don’t line up perfectly
  5. Top with second slice of bread, butter side up
  6. When the bottom is golden brown, flip the sandwich (usually about 2-3 min)
  7. When second side is golden brown and cheese is melted, remove from heat and serve immediately
